47th Ordinary Session of the African Union Executive Council Kicks Off in Malabo with High-Level Mauritanian Participation
The 47th Ordinary Session of the Executive Council of the African Union officially commenced this Thursday morning in Malabo, the capital of Equatorial Guinea, with the participation of His Excellency Mr. Mohamed Salem Ould Merzouk, Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Mauritanians Abroad.
The session’s agenda includes discussions and the adoption of various committee reports, which will be submitted to the Assembly of Heads of State and Government, scheduled to take place in two days. These discussions are considered crucial in shaping the collective decisions and strategies of the African Union.
His Excellency the Minister is accompanied by a high-level delegation, including:
- H.E. Mr. El-Houssein Ould Najy, Mauritania’s Ambassador to Addis Ababa and Permanent Representative to the African Union,
- Ambassador Mohamed Teta, Minister’s Advisor at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs,
- Ambassador Ahmed Mohamed Eddeh, Director of Communication and Media at the Ministry,
- Mr. Ba Amadou Baila, Deputy Director of Protocol,
- Mr. Mohamedou Soufi, First Counselor at the Mauritanian Mission in Addis Ababa.
Mauritania’s participation in this key continental meeting reflects its commitment to strengthening African unity and integration and underscores its active diplomatic role within regional institutions.
