A written message from Ghazouani to the Italian Prime Minister

President Mohamed Ould Ghazouani sent a written message to Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, which was received on her behalf by her diplomatic advisor, Fabrizio Saggio.
The letter was delivered by the Minister of Economy and Finance, Sidi Ahmed Ould Abouh, today at the Government Palace in Rome.
In a statement, the Ministry of Economy and Finance noted that the meeting provided an opportunity for the minister to convey President Ould Ghazouani’s greetings to the Italian Prime Minister. He also discussed with her diplomatic advisor “the distinguished bilateral relations between Mauritania and Italy, as well as ways to enhance and strengthen them in the interest of both friendly nations.”
The ministry quoted the Italian side as expressing its eagerness to advance Mauritanian-Italian relations, highlighting the opportunities offered by the “Mattei Plan” for development and partnership between Italy and Africa, and potential areas of bilateral cooperation in agriculture, energy, and vocational training.
The meeting was also attended by Mauritania’s Ambassador to Italy, Mohamed Mahmoud Ould Dahi.
