Consultation and Training Workshop on the Reference Framework for the Qualification of Youth Associations

The Ministry of Youth Empowerment, Employment, Sports, and Civil Service organized a consultation and training workshop today, Saturday, at the Youth House in Tevragh Zeina, located in the western district of Nouakchott. The workshop focused on the reference framework for the qualification and accreditation of youth associations and clubs.

The two-day workshop aims to establish clear concepts and criteria for youth associative work, enhance the capacities of youth associations and clubs, and empower them to face challenges while achieving tangible and sustainable community impact.

The event was attended by representatives of 39 associations from various regions of the country, in addition to delegates from several government sectors.

In his opening remarks, the Minister of Youth Empowerment, Employment, Sports, and Civil Service, Mr. Mohamed Abdallah Ould Louly, emphasized that leading youth associative movements is a cornerstone for advancing development and building a better future for Mauritania.

He added that youth associations and clubs are not merely legal frameworks organizing associative work; they serve as platforms for positive impact and spaces enabling youth to innovate and create, while enhancing their active participation in comprehensive development efforts.

The Minister also highlighted that empowering youth is a national priority within the framework of the President of the Republic, Mr. Mohamed Cheikh El Ghazouani’s program, “My Ambition for the Nation”. He noted the ministry’s aspiration to provide a sustainable and effective framework that ensures the inclusion of all Mauritanian youth without discrimination, contributing to the building of a cohesive and inclusive society.

He further stated that the ministry seeks to achieve a qualitative leap in the performance of youth associations by launching a participatory process to develop the “Reference Framework for the Qualification and Accreditation of Youth Associations and Clubs in Mauritania.”

The workshop’s opening was attended by the Secretary-General of the Ministry, Mr. Enaji Ould Khatry, the Deputy Governor of the Western Nouakchott District, the Prefect of Tevragh Zeina, the Mayor of the municipality, and several ministry officials.
