Hamas Criticizes UN Security Council Resolution, Describes It as Undermining Palestinian Rights

The Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) strongly criticized the UN Security Council’s latest resolution on the Gaza Strip, adopted after 13 member states voted in favor of the amended U.S. draft, while Russia and China abstained.
In an official statement, Hamas said the resolution fails to meet the political and humanitarian rights and demands of the Palestinian people, particularly those suffering in the Gaza Strip.
The movement added that the resolution effectively imposes an international guardianship mechanism on Gaza, a measure it said is rejected by the Palestinian people, their national forces, and all resistance factions. Hamas argued that such a mechanism seeks to achieve the objectives of the occupation, which it has been unable to accomplish through what it described as a “brutal war of extermination.”
According to the statement, the resolution aims to detach Gaza from the broader Palestinian geography and enforce new realities on the ground.
Hamas further warned that assigning an international force tasks inside Gaza—including disarming the resistance—strips this force of neutrality and makes it a party to the conflict in favor of the occupation, a role the Palestinian people and their factions firmly reject.
