Mauritania discusses with Russia the entry of seafood products into Russian markets.

The Minister of Fisheries and Maritime and Port Infrastructure discussed with the Deputy Minister of Agriculture and the Head of the Federal Fisheries Agency of Russia, Ilya Vasilitevich, the “prospects of Mauritian-Russian cooperation.”

The discussions took place on the sidelines of Mauritania’s participation in the Agadir Seafood Exhibition, which started yesterday, Wednesday, and will continue until the 8th of February.

The Mauritanian Minister met with the Russian delegation during their visit to the Mauritanian pavilion at the exhibition. The talks between the two sides focused on “prospects for cooperation between the two countries in scientific research, health inspection, and the entry of seafood products into the Russian Federation.”

The scope of cooperation ambitions expanded to include “ways of collaboration in all fields related to the fishing sector.”

The Russian delegation, which visited and inspected the Mauritanian pavilion, included “important Russian investors,” according to the Mauritanian News Agency (official).
