Minister of Petroleum: We are close to producing the first shipment of gas from the Ahmeem field

Minister of Petroleum, Energy, and Mines, El Hani Ould Ashroukh, stated that they are gradually and steadily approaching the production of the first shipment of gas from the Ahmeyim field, which is shared between Mauritania and Senegal. He confirmed that the project components are 95% complete.

The minister added that Mauritania and Senegal are working together with all partners to achieve the project’s goal of producing 2.3 million tons of liquefied natural gas annually for over 20 years.

This statement came during a visit the minister made this morning, accompanied by his Senegalese counterpart, to the Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) vessel of the Turtle Ahmeyim Grand (GTA) field, located 40 kilometers off the Atlantic Ocean coast.
