Early Friday morning, the Nouakchott regional authority launched a comprehensive mosquito control campaign covering all districts of the capital, as part of ongoing efforts to reduce the spread of mosquito-borne diseases.
The campaign will run for 10 days, involving ten specialized teams equipped with the necessary tools, each targeting a different district every night to ensure full citywide coverage.
In this context, the President of Nouakchott, Fatimetou Abdel Malek, called on all residents to sanitize their homes and bathrooms during the campaign and to keep doors closed when spraying vehicles pass through residential areas, to maximize the effectiveness of the initiative and enhance public health protection.
