Nouakchott’s Rabat Generations Association Launches Official Activities

The Rabat Generations Association officially launched its activities on Wednesday evening during a ceremony held at the Monotel Dar Al Baraka Hotel in the capital, Nouakchott.
The association aims to build bridges between generations and foster a spirit of solidarity across the community, enabling the exchange of knowledge and expertise to address developmental challenges.
In his speech, the Deputy Mayor of Tevragh-Zeina, Mr. Mohamed Ahmed Zerouq, highlighted that the event reflects the municipality’s support for initiatives that strengthen social cohesion. He emphasized that the association provides an important platform to promote values of coexistence and national unity.
He added that the current period requires unifying efforts and protecting society from ideas that hinder development, stressing the importance of rejecting tribalism and regionalism while reinforcing citizenship and solidarity.
Meanwhile, the association’s president, Mr. Sidi Ould El Ghilani, explained that the initiative aims to accompany the capital’s development and contribute to building a more harmonious future by creating a space for intergenerational dialogue and supporting social and cultural initiatives.
He affirmed that the association seeks to revive values of coexistence and fraternity through projects that complement state efforts and serve citizens without discrimination, calling on youth, women, and all stakeholders to engage in this dynamic and contribute to sustainable development.
Speakers also noted that Nouakchott, as a meeting point for diverse cultures and perspectives, holds particular importance in consolidating the values of communal living and enhancing social cohesion.
