OIC countries discuss an Arab plan for Gaza reconstruction.

Foreign ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) are meeting today, Friday, in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, to discuss an Arab plan for rebuilding Gaza without displacing Palestinians. This plan was endorsed by Arab leaders earlier this week during the emergency summit in Cairo, in response to President Donald Trump’s proposal.
According to analysts cited by AFP, the OIC is prepared to widely support the Arab plan as an alternative to Trump’s proposal for Gaza control.
Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry stated that Egypt, a key mediator in ceasefire talks between Hamas and Israel, will seek support from Islamic countries for its Gaza reconstruction plan during the emergency OIC summit in Jeddah, aiming for both Arab and Islamic endorsement.
However, the US State Department remarked on Thursday that Egypt’s plan for Gaza “does not meet” Trump’s aspirations.
Meanwhile, Arab leaders at the Cairo summit announced the establishment of a credit fund to finance the reconstruction of Gaza, which was devastated by war, and urged the international community to participate in accelerating this process.
