Opposition parties and formations discuss their position on the Interior Ministry’s call
Opposition parties, formations and figures held a meeting today, Saturday, at the headquarters of the Democratic Opposition Foundation to discuss their position on the invitation sent by the Ministry of Interior to political parties and activities this evening.
It is expected that, if these parties and formations reach a unified position on this call, they will announce it during the evening hours before the scheduled start of the meeting.
Leaders and representatives of parties and formations will participate in the meeting:
- The National Rally for Reform and Development “Tawasul”,
- The Progressive Popular Alliance,
- Republican Front for Unity and Democracy,
- That’s right,
- Alliance for Justice and Democracy / Renewal Movement,
- The National Forces for Change (under establishment)
- Al-Rak Party (under establishment),
- Forward Mauritania (under establishment)
- Liberation and Development Party (under establishment)
Opposition figures also participated in the meeting.
The Ministry of the Interior and Decentralization had invited political parties and activities to participate in national days on participatory preparation for the presidential elections and developing political governance, this evening at the old Conference Palace in the capital, Nouakchott.
The Ministry initially set 4 p.m., before changing the time to 8 p.m.
