The Ministry of Health announced the seizure of a container carrying a large shipment of smuggled medicines that was set to enter through the Port of Friendship illegally.
In a statement issued on Saturday, the ministry clarified that the confiscated quantity consists of 44 bags containing 9,792 tubes and 1,440 units of unauthorized pharmaceutical products.
The ministry confirmed that several individuals suspected of involvement in the smuggling operation have been arrested.
Reaffirming its commitment to combating illegal activities in the healthcare sector, the ministry emphasized its ongoing cooperation with relevant security and judicial authorities. It also urged citizens to report any suspicious activities related to the illegal distribution of medicines.
