Prime Minister Chairs Ministerial Committee Meeting to Prepare Recruitment of 3,000 Civil Service Positions

Prime Minister Mokhtar Ould Ajay chaired a meeting this Friday morning at the Prime Minister’s Office, bringing together the ministerial committee responsible for preparing the recruitment process for 3,000 new positions in the civil service.

This large-scale recruitment reflects the directives outlined in the Independence Day address delivered by His Excellency President Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, who emphasized the importance of injecting new talent into the public administration and enabling Mauritanian youth to access civil service opportunities through a transparent and fair process. The initiative aims to reinforce the principles of merit, competence, and equal opportunity, while ensuring that government sectors secure the skilled professionals they need.

During the meeting, the committee reviewed the technical and organizational aspects of the recruitment operation, including the identification of sectoral needs, the distribution of positions according to priorities and specializations, and the mechanisms required to ensure integrity and transparency throughout all stages of the competition.

The Prime Minister stressed that the instructions of the President are clear and firm: full compliance with legal and regulatory standards is essential, and all necessary measures must be taken to prevent any forms of favoritism or patronage. He emphasized that this national recruitment campaign should serve as a model of good governance and transparency, ensuring the selection of the most qualified candidates to strengthen the public administration.

He also urged the relevant ministries to demonstrate the highest levels of seriousness and responsibility in implementing the outcomes of the meeting, while maintaining close coordination with the Independent Competition Commission, the legally mandated body responsible for overseeing all national competitions.

Finally, the Prime Minister underscored the importance of enabling the Commission to mobilize all necessary expertise and competencies to carry out this mission with the highest standards of professionalism and efficiency.
