Conclusion of the First Session of the Mauritanian–Moroccan Parliamentary Economic Forum

The first session of the Mauritanian–Moroccan Parliamentary Economic Forum concluded this Saturday afternoon at the National Assembly headquarters in Nouakchott, under the joint chairmanship of the Speaker of the National Assembly, Mr. Mohamed Bamba Meguett, and the Speaker of the Moroccan House of Representatives, Mr. Rachid Talbi El Alami.

The Speaker of the National Assembly praised the outcomes of the forum, emphasizing the commitment of His Excellency President Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani and His Majesty King Mohammed VI to strengthening the cooperation between the two brotherly nations across various sectors.

He added that participants discussed prospects for cooperation in the fields of agriculture, veterinary services, vocational training, employment, fisheries, and the economy.

The Speaker concluded his remarks by thanking the Speaker of the Moroccan House of Representatives and the members of his delegation, wishing them an enjoyable stay in Mauritania and a safe return to their brotherly country, Morocco.

For his part, the Speaker of the Moroccan House of Representatives, Mr. Rachid Talbi El Alami, commended the level of cooperation between his country and Mauritania and expressed his gratitude to His Excellency President Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani for the audience granted to him at the Presidential Palace.

He emphasized that Morocco and Mauritania share many commonalities and called for deepening cooperation in line with the will of His Majesty King Mohammed VI and His Excellency President Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani.

Mr. Talbi El Alami also expressed his pleasure at visiting Mauritania and extended his thanks to the Speaker of the National Assembly for the warm welcome and generous hospitality.

He noted that parliamentary diplomacy has become an effective tool for enhancing cooperation between nations and praised the idea of establishing the Mauritanian–Moroccan Parliamentary Economic Forum, highlighting the importance of following up on the implementation of the recommendations resulting from this first edition.

It is worth noting that the first edition of the Mauritanian–Moroccan Parliamentary Economic Forum was held at the National Assembly headquarters in Nouakchott on May 9–10, with the participation of ministers from both countries and members of the Mauritanian and Moroccan parliamentary delegations.
