Mauritanian President Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, the current President of the African Union, met today, Friday, at the Élysée Palace in Paris with several heads of state and international organizations ahead of the Olympic Games.
Among the leaders he met were Senegalese President Macky Sall, transitional Gabonese President General Brice Oligui Nguema, United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres, and European Council President Charles Michel.
President Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani arrived in Paris two days ago in preparation for his participation in the opening of the Paris 2024 Summer Olympics, which will take place at the athletes’ village in the Saint-Denis area, north of the French capital.
