Ghazouani returns to Nouakchott after participating in the Arab Summit.

The Mauritanian President, Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, returned to the capital, Nouakchott, this Wednesday morning after his participation in the emergency Arab summit convened to discuss the situation in the Gaza Strip.

In his speech before the summit, Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani stated that the Palestinian cause, for Mauritania, is “the cause of a people’s suffering, the sanctity of holy sites, and supporting our brothers, and it is non-negotiable.”

He emphasized that “efforts must be made to establish the two-state solution as a fundamental condition for lasting peace and security in the region,” adding that “hesitation and delay in adopting this solution have only resulted in more violence, insecurity, and instability for everyone.”
