Snoop Dogg Joins Swansea City Ownership Group Alongside Luka Modrić to Boost Club’s Global Ambitions

Championship side Swansea City announced on Thursday that American rapper and music producer Snoop Dogg has joined the club’s ownership group. He becomes a co-owner alongside Croatian football star Luka Modrić and several American investors.
This development follows Snoop Dogg’s recent involvement in unveiling the club’s new home kit, sparking speculation about his deeper involvement with the team.
Speaking on Swansea City’s official website, Snoop Dogg said:
“My love for football is well known, but to be able to become a part-owner of Swansea City takes it to a special level. I’ve been deeply inspired by the story of the club and the community. This is a proud city and a proud club with working-class roots – and that speaks to me.”
The 53-year-old global music icon, famous for his long and influential career in hip-hop, is expected to bring tremendous visibility and international appeal to the club.
Swansea’s ownership group expressed enthusiasm about the partnership:
“Snoop has made it clear throughout this process how excited he is to join the club. His massive global fanbase will undoubtedly help raise Swansea’s profile worldwide. We also believe his involvement will support our efforts to build the most competitive team possible on the pitch.”
Modrić joined the club’s investor group in April alongside American businessmen Andy Coleman, Brett Cravatt, Nigel Morris, and Jason Cohen. The additions come at a critical time, as Swansea recorded pre-tax losses of £15.2 million ($20.39 million) in the most recent financial year.
Snoop Dogg and Modrić are now part of Swansea’s mission to overcome financial challenges and rebuild the club’s stature. The team will compete in the EFL Championship next season, alongside Wrexham AFC, which has undergone a dramatic revival under the ownership of actors Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney.
