Strict Traffic Regulations to be Enforced in Nouakchott Starting September
The Minister of Equipment and Transport, Aall Ould Ferk, announced that stringent regulations will be enforced starting September in the districts of Ksar and Tevragh-Zeina as a first phase to address all behaviors leading to traffic congestion. This measure will later be extended to all districts within the Nouakchott region.
In a press statement, the minister highlighted that the work carried out by the joint committee assigned to resolve traffic issues in the capital over the past four months has clearly contributed to alleviating traffic congestion, improving the city’s appearance, and enhancing security conditions.
He added that traffic congestion is a significant challenge faced by major cities worldwide. Its impact extends beyond daily quality of life, affecting both economic and environmental aspects.
