The Minister of Social Affairs inspects the conduct of financial transfers to needy families

This morning, on Saturday, April 6th, 2024, Her Excellency the Minister of Social Affairs, Childhood, and Family: Safiya bint Anatha, paid a visit to the headquarters of the Mauritanian Post and Telecommunications Company, accompanied by the Minister of Digital Transformation and Innovation, and the Director-General of the Post and Telecommunications Company: Ali Ould Issa, as well as the Assistant Director-General of the Mauritanian Post and Telecommunications Company and a number of employees from relevant sectors.

Her Excellency the Minister clarified that the visit aimed at launching a cash distribution operation targeting vulnerable groups in three states in the capital, Nouakchott.

In her speech, the Minister of Social Affairs, Childhood, and Family mentioned that the ongoing distribution operation will target 10,000 families across the national territory, aiming to provide assistance to this vulnerable social group. She emphasized that this operation represents a fundamental axis in the field of alleviating poverty.

Minister Safiya bint Anatha commended the pioneering role played by the Mauritanian Post and Telecommunications Company in the context of this operation, which represents a partnership between the two institutions.

The Minister highly praised the significant role played by the Mauritanian Post and Telecommunications Company in executing this current operation, highlighting the level of transparency and accuracy in management and task completion. This will help beneficiaries receive what they deserve in a fair and clear manner.

In her closing remarks, Her Excellency the Minister clarified that the selection of the Mauritanian Post and Telecommunications Company was not arbitrary but rather due to the company’s proximity to the targeted vulnerable groups in such distributions.
