Trump: Talks Underway to Buy TikTok, Decision Expected Within 30 Days

U.S. President Donald Trump has confirmed that he is in discussions with multiple parties regarding the purchase of TikTok, expecting that a decision on the app’s future will be made within 30 days.

Widespread Interest in Acquiring TikTok

Speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One during a trip to Florida, Trump stated:
“I’m talking to a lot of people about TikTok, and there is significant interest in buying it.”

A Plan to Save the App

According to Reuters, the Trump administration is working on a plan to rescue TikTok, which may involve Oracle Corporation alongside a group of external investors, aiming to effectively take over the app’s operations.

A source familiar with the matter revealed that the current deal under negotiation – involving the White House – would allow TikTok’s parent company, ByteDance, to retain a stake in the company, while Oracle would oversee data collection and software updates, as it already provides the core infrastructure for TikTok’s online operations.

Trump Denies Talks with Oracle on the Deal

Despite widespread reports, Trump clarified that he has not discussed the purchase of TikTok with Oracle’s founder and CEO, Larry Ellison.

When asked whether he was working on a deal with Oracle and other investors to save the app, Trump responded:
“No, not with Oracle. Many people are talking to me about buying it—some very important figures. I will likely make a decision within the next 30 days, even though Congress has given a 90-day deadline. If we can save TikTok, I think it would be a good thing.”

A Critical Decision in the Coming Weeks

All eyes are now on the White House as the final decision on TikTok’s future in the U.S. is expected in the coming weeks, amid ongoing debates over national security and app ownership.
