Mauritanian and Italian Ministers of Economy Discuss Strengthening Economic Cooperation
His Excellency Mr. Sid’Ahmed Ould Abouh, Minister of Economy and Finance of Mauritania, held a meeting on Wednesday in Rome with His Excellency Giancarlo Giorgetti, Minister of Economy and Finance of the Italian Republic. The meeting took place on the sidelines of the Governing Council meetings of the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD).
The discussion provided an opportunity to assess the level of economic cooperation between the two countries and explore ways to enhance and expand it to broader horizons.
During the meeting, the Italian Minister of Economy and Finance expressed his country’s keen interest in the promising investment opportunities offered by Mauritania, particularly in the energy and gas sectors. He also expressed Italy’s desire to expand its investments in Mauritania by engaging in various economic sectors and seizing available investment and trade opportunities.
His Excellency the Minister was accompanied by His Excellency Mr. Mohamed Mahmoud Ould Dahy, Mauritania’s Ambassador to Italy.
