Gulf Cup U17 Kicks Off in Qatar Showcasing Top Young Talents

Qatar is set to host the Gulf Cup Under-17, starting on Saturday, September 20, 2025, and running until October 3, 2025, bringing together the region’s top emerging football talents to compete for the championship title. This edition marks the first time the tournament is organized under the umbrella of the Gulf Cup Football Federation.
The competition will feature 15 matches across two fully equipped stadiums, Hamad Al-Kabeer Stadium and Suhaim Bin Hamad Stadium, both designed for easy accessibility, including for fans with disabilities, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable experience for all spectators.
Participating Teams and Groups
The tournament features eight Gulf national teams, divided into two groups:
- Group A: Led by host nation Qatar, alongside United Arab Emirates, Oman, and Yemen.
- Group B: Headed by Iraq, with Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, and Kuwait.
The tournament opens on September 20 at Hamad Al-Kabeer Stadium with the match between Iraq and Kuwait. The Qatar U17 team will play its first game against Yemen on September 21 at the same venue.
Match Tickets
The Local Organizing Committee recently announced the launch of ticket sales through the official Qatar Football Association website. All tickets will be digital and priced at QAR 10 ($2.5).
A Busy Football Season in Qatar
Hosting the Gulf Cup U17 is part of a packed football calendar in Qatar, featuring several major tournaments in the final quarter of 2025:
- FIFA U17 World Cup, with Qatar participating alongside Saudi Arabia and UAE, taking place from November 3 to 27 at the Aspire Zone Competition Complex, the region’s premier sports excellence hub.
- Arab Cup, concluding the football year in Qatar, from December 1 to 18.
