The leader of the Justice Party, Mohamed Mahmoud Ould Ghazouani, met with coordinators of his party at the state level, along with those tasked with overseeing the review of the electoral list for the upcoming presidential elections scheduled for June.

The list of coordinators in the states includes over 10 government members who will be tasked with supervising the registration process to ensure the enrollment of the largest number of voters on the electoral list. Additionally, they will work to ensure their votes for President Mohamed Ould Ghazouani, who has not yet announced his candidacy for a second term.

The meeting takes place at the party’s headquarters, where the party leader is expected to discuss with coordinators from the 15 states the outlines of their action plans and implementation mechanisms for the coming weeks.

Two days ago, the Independent National Electoral Commission approved an exceptional review of the electoral list nationwide from April 15, 2024, to May 29, 2024. The period between April 25, 2024, and May 29, 2024, was specified for the review for Mauritanians residing abroad.
