The Minister of Water discusses with a Japanese delegation ways to enhance and diversify sources of drinking water production.

Her Excellency the Minister of Water and Sanitation, Mrs. Amal Bint Mouloud, held discussions today, Tuesday, at the ministry’s headquarters with the Ambassador of Japan to Mauritania, H.E. Mr. Tochida Tatsukuni, who was accompanied by a delegation from the CFAO Group, affiliated with the Japanese company Toyota.

This meeting falls within the framework of the ministry’s efforts to enhance and diversify sources of drinking water production across the country.

The meeting focused on discussing the progress of the feasibility study being conducted by the CFAO Group for the establishment of a seawater desalination plant in Nouadhibou with a capacity of 50,000 cubic meters per day, as part of Mauritanian-Japanese cooperation.

The two parties also explored ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation to include other projects, particularly in areas related to the ministry’s activities.
