Juventus Terminates Paul Pogba’s Contract by Mutual Agreement as the Player Prepares for a Comeback
Juventus announced on Friday that it has agreed to terminate French midfielder Paul Pogba’s contract by mutual consent, effective November 30, 2024. In an official statement, the club stated, “The club wishes Paul all the best for his professional future.”
The decision comes as Pogba prepares to return to football after his doping suspension was reduced from four years to 18 months, allowing him to resume playing in March 2025.
In a previous interview with Gazzetta dello Sport, Pogba expressed his desire to continue his career with Juventus, even if it meant sacrificing part of his salary. “I want to return to this club and play for Juventus again,” he said.
The 2018 World Cup winner signed a contract with Juventus in 2022, following six seasons at Manchester United. However, injuries have severely limited his impact, with Pogba featuring in just 12 matches (a total of 213 minutes) since his return.
Pogba’s deal with Juventus, which was initially set to run until 2026, included an annual salary of €8 million. Despite his challenges, including a serious knee injury that overshadowed his comeback, the midfielder had expressed optimism about continuing his journey with the Italian giants.
