Al-Nassr Announce Departure of Coach Jorge Jesus After Historic Saudi League Title

Saudi Pro League champions Al-Nassr announced on Thursday the departure of their Portuguese head coach Jorge Jesus, without revealing his next destination.
The club stated on its official account on the platform “X”: “He arrived as a challenger… and leaves us as a champion. Thank you, Jesus, for everything you have given to your club Al-Nassr… You will always remain loved and appreciated by Al-Nassr fans.”
Al-Nassr appointed Jesus in mid-July on a one-season contract as part of a new sporting project that led the team back to domestic glory.
His appointment followed the departure of Italian coach Stefano Pioli in June after Al-Nassr finished third in the Saudi league, securing qualification for the AFC Champions League 2.
Under the Portuguese coach, Al-Nassr went on to win the Saudi Pro League title, finishing two points ahead of Al-Hilal, Jesus’s former club, to secure their first league title since 2019.
The team also reached the final of the AFC Champions League 2, where they lost 1–0 to Japan’s Gamba Osaka.
Although Jesus has not yet announced his next move, reports suggest he is a leading candidate to take over at Portuguese side Benfica, should José Mourinho leave for Real Madrid.
