English clubs struggle to include Algerian star Amoura

After his remarkable performance this season with Royal Union Saint-Gilloise in Belgium, Algerian player Mohamed Amin Amoura’s stock has risen significantly, attracting the interest of several English clubs.

Amoura, 23, scored 22 goals and provided 6 assists in 40 appearances for his Belgian club across various domestic and continental competitions.

The Algerian moved to Saint-Gilloise last summer from Swiss club Lugano in a deal valued at €4 million, according to the specialized global transfer market website “Transfermarkt”.

The same source revealed that Amoura’s market value has quadrupled, now standing at €16 million.

Belgian outlet “Foot News” reported that Saint-Gilloise is demanding over €20 million to sell their star Amoura to any club interested during the upcoming summer transfer window. Several English clubs, including West Ham United, Tottenham Hotspur, and Brighton, are seeking to sign him due to his outstanding performances this season.

Amoura had decided to retire in 2018 due to financial difficulties but was convinced by his coach to continue playing, recognizing his significant talent.

He began his football career with Algerian club JSM Guelma in the fourth division before moving to the youth academy of ES Setif in 2019.

Amoura delivered an impressive performance with ES Setif, scoring 16 goals and providing 8 assists in 36 Algerian league matches.

He joined Lugano in Switzerland in 2021, where his talent was further developed, leading to his transfer to Royal Union Saint-Gilloise for €4 million, where he continued to shine and impress.
