Mohamed Ould Abati, Coordinator of the Local Content Unit at the Mauritanian Ministry of Petroleum, Mines, and Energy, stated that the Local Content Law project includes the establishment of a special fund to support local content, aimed at addressing various challenges in this field
Ould Abati added in a presentation given to the press on Wednesday morning that this fund will be financed by resources allocated by the government, and its management mechanisms will be defined by a decree.
He emphasized that the fund will specifically be used to support the capacities of local companies in providing various services to foreign companies working on energy and mining projects.
He also pointed out that the fund will contribute to addressing the issue of labor by supporting local training institutions, enabling them to graduate workers trained according to the requirements of the partners.
