The Minister of Culture presents the Heritage Cities Football Championship Cup to the Joul team
His Excellency, the Minister of Culture, Arts, and Communication, and Government Spokesperson, Mr. Hassan Ould Amadou, presented the Heritage Cities Football Championship Cup to the Joul team on Monday evening after their victory in a penalty shootout against the Walata team during the final match of the tournament.
The Walata team took second place and received the second-place trophy, while the Tichit team finished in third place and received the third-place trophy. The Chinguetti team ranked fourth and was awarded the Fair Play prize.
Tichit team player Rabi Ould Salek won the top scorer award, while A’l Mohammed Al-Bashir, the goalkeeper for the Joul team, was named the best goalkeeper.
All referees were honored with a gold medal in recognition of their officiating efforts.
The closing ceremony of the tournament was attended by the Governor of Adrar, Mr. Abdullah Ould Mohammed Mahmoud, the Director of his office, the District Governor of Chinguetti, the Deputy Mayor of the municipality, a representative from the region, the Director of Public Sports, the Regional Director of Youth and Sports Empowerment, and security officials from the region.
