The Ministry of Health seizes a shipment of medicine that entered the borders illegally

The Ministry of Health of Mauritania has seized a shipment of medicine that entered the country through illegal channels via one of the border crossings in the Selibabi district in the Guidimakha region, according to a statement published on its page today, Monday.

The ministry added that the individuals responsible for this shipment “have been referred to justice for the necessary legal procedures.”

It explained that this action is in “implementation of the strict standards set by the government to ensure the quality and safety of imported medicines.”

The ministry had also stopped a non-refrigerated truck carrying medicines heading to the interior on Sunday, justifying this action by stating that the truck “did not comply with the standards and regulations established by the government to ensure the quality and safety of medicines.”
