Mauritania produces its first shipment of gas.

U.S. company Kosmos Energy announced on Monday the start of liquefied natural gas (LNG) production at the “Ahmeyim” field, located offshore between Mauritania and Senegal.
This milestone follows the initial injection of natural gas into both the floating storage and offloading unit (FSO) and the FLNG Gimi vessel, owned and operated by Golar LNG.
The first LNG shipment from the field is expected to be exported during the first quarter of this year, in line with previous projections.
On December 31, British Petroleum (BP) had announced the initial gas injection from the wells into the floating production, storage, and offloading (FPSO) unit, located 40 kilometers offshore, as part of the project’s startup phase.
