Sawab Party Launches Nationwide Membership Drive for Women’s Organization

The Sawab Party launched a nationwide membership campaign for its women’s organization on Saturday evening from its central headquarters in Nouakchott, as part of preparations for the organization’s first congress, scheduled to take place next November.
Nationwide Campaign to Expand Women’s Participation
The campaign covers all regions of Mauritania and forms part of the party’s organizational preparations for the first congress of its women’s organization. The initiative aims to broaden women’s participation within the party’s structures and strengthen their role in its political and community activities.
Speaking at the launch, Sawab Party Women’s Organization President Khadija Yacoub said the efforts of the party’s women members contribute to a national project aimed at strengthening the position of Mauritanian women and improving their social and economic conditions.
She emphasized the importance of empowering women to play their full role in the country’s development and in building society, highlighting their contribution to national efforts across various fields.
Preparations for the First Congress
The membership campaign is expected to continue across Mauritania’s different regions in the coming period, ahead of the organization’s first congress in November.
Through the initiative, the Sawab Party seeks to expand the reach of its women’s organization, strengthen women’s participation in political and social activities, and develop its organizational structures and programs nationwide.
