Mauritanian President Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani has expressed his country’s desire to strengthen cooperation with the new Syrian government, led by Ahmed Al-Sharaa.
In a congratulatory message sent to Al-Sharaa, Ghazouani stated:
“On the occasion of your assumption of the presidency of the Syrian Arab Republic during the transitional phase, it is my pleasure, on behalf of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania—its people and government—and on my own behalf, to extend my warmest congratulations and sincere best wishes to Your Excellency.”
He also expressed his hope that Syria’s new leadership would guide the country towards a future of security, stability, and prosperity.
