Governor of Inchiri Conducts Field Visit to Al-Asmā’ and Barjimat Villages to Assess Residents’ Needs

The Governor of Inchiri, Mr. Idris Demba Korera, conducted a field visit on Friday to the villages of Al-Asmā’ and Barjimat in Benshab District to evaluate local living conditions, in implementation of directives from His Excellency President Mohamed Ould Cheikh El-Ghazouani.
During the visit, the governor presided over two extensive meetings with residents, where community issues were reviewed and prioritized to facilitate prompt and effective solutions.
In his remarks, Governor Korera emphasized that the visit reflects the President’s commitment to bringing administration closer to citizens and engaging directly to understand their living conditions and needs. He highlighted the importance of these meetings in identifying urgent needs and considering proposals from local leaders and community representatives, noting that addressing these issues will be done in coordination with elected local officials.
The governor also praised elected representatives for their efforts in providing water through tanker services, urging them to intensify efforts until a permanent solution to the water problem is implemented.
Additionally, Governor Korera congratulated the residents of Al-Asmā’ village for achieving a 100% success rate in the entrance exam to the first year of middle school for the second consecutive year, commending the role of teachers and parents, and encouraging continued efforts to sustain this achievement in line with the National School Project.
Local officials highlighted the government’s development projects under the President’s program, noting that the emergency program for universal access to basic services has addressed some urgent community needs. They explained that a permanent water solution requires extending pipelines from Lake Benshab, and the project study has been completed, with implementation expected soon.
Representatives from the villages also applauded the achievements made over the past years under the President’s leadership, particularly in Inchiri region and Benshab District, while stressing the need to address environmental challenges, including the proliferation of stone quarries and mining operations in the area.
Governor Korera was accompanied on the visit by the President of Inchiri Regional Council, the Governor’s Advisor for Economic Affairs and Local Development, the District Governor of Benshab, the municipal mayor, and security leaders in the region.
