Prime Minister Receives UN Special Rapporteur on Migrant Rights

Today, Thursday, September 11, 2025, His Excellency Prime Minister Mokhtar Ould Daddah received at his office at the Prime Minister’s Office, Mr. Jehadh Madi, UN Special Rapporteur on the human rights of migrants.
The meeting was attended by:
- His Excellency Sid Ahmed Ould Benan, Commissioner for Human Rights, Humanitarian Affairs, and Relations with Civil Society,
- Sheikh Ould Zidan, Director of the Prime Minister’s Cabinet,
- Fatima Bent Anjian, Advisor to the Prime Minister on Human Rights.
Accompanying the Special Rapporteur were:
- Ms. Michelle Erazo, Assistant to the Special Rapporteur,
- Ms. Lila Peters Yahya, UN Resident Coordinator in Mauritania.
The discussions focused on strengthening the protection of migrant rights in the country and enhancing collaboration between the government and the United Nations system in this area.
