Changes in the Ranks of Mauritanian Ambassadors

President Mohamed Ould Ghazouani made changes to the ranks of Mauritanian ambassadors on Friday, following the retirement of several of them.

According to sources from the independent news agency, the following changes were made:

  • Mauritania’s ambassador to Libya, Mohamed Ould Banna, was appointed ambassador to Qatar.
  • Mauritania’s ambassador to Addis Ababa and its representative to the African Union was appointed ambassador to Italy.
  • Mauritania’s ambassador to Guinea-Bissau, Ahmed Ould Boussef, was appointed ambassador to Brazil.

These sources confirmed that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has summoned all diplomats who retired at the end of the previous year, with the exception of one ambassador.
