Ghazouani: We Will Engage with Both Opposition and Coalition to Prepare for Political Dialogue
President Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani announced that in the coming months, he will begin reaching out to various political parties, both from the ruling coalition and the opposition, to consult on the best ways to prepare effectively for an upcoming political dialogue. This dialogue will address major national issues, particularly those related to strengthening national unity, fostering social cohesion, and consolidating the democratic system.
Ould Ghazouani emphasized his desire for the dialogue to be “inclusive, candid, and responsible,” where participants rise above stubbornness and futile disputes, avoiding the pursuit of narrow personal or partisan gains at the expense of the greater public good.
In his speech marking the 64th anniversary of national independence, he added, “To ensure its success, we must learn from past experiences and propose new mechanisms and methodologies to guarantee the dialogue’s effectiveness.”
He also expressed his conviction that sparing the country from any disruptions that could hinder its path toward growth and development, ensuring it remains free, independent, stable, and secure, requires continuous communication, dialogue, and discussions among various political and social actors on significant national issues.
