Earlier today in Medina, Saudi Arabia, it was announced the passing of Khadija Sidiya Saeed, the Deputy Chairperson of the Consultative Council of the National Rally for Reform and Development Party “Tawassoul”.
According to local sources, the deceased arrived in the holy land as a pilgrim at the end of last Ramadan, where she suffered from a health condition that worsened until her demise.
Khadija Sidiya was one of the prominent female figures in the Islamic movement in Mauritania. She was known for her educational and teaching role, in addition to her political activism, having held leadership positions in various educational, religious, and political organizations in Mauritania.
In addition to her party responsibilities, Khadija Sidiya also served as the fifth deputy mayor of the Tevragh-Zeina municipality in the Western Nouakchott region, where she succeeded as a council member in the 2023 elections.
