The Governor of the Gorgol region, Mr. Mohamed El Mokhtar Ould Abdi, chaired a meeting of the regional development committee in the city of Kaédi on Monday.
In his speech on the occasion, the governor emphasized that the meeting aims to activate the performance of this committee, which is responsible for shaping development policies and plans to coordinate public interventions at the regional level.
He stated that the agenda for the committee’s meeting today includes developing an intervention plan to organize work at the regional level, with top priorities including reducing the phenomenon of random urbanization, rationalizing public interventions through efficient management of state financial resources, and monitoring the implementation of development plans adopted by various specialized ministries, especially those related to education, health, and social affairs.
The meeting was attended by the regional advisors, district governors, deputy president of the region, regional department directors, the representative of the association of mayors of the region, and the representative of civil society.
