Nouadhibou: Association Honors Child Winners in Quran Competition

The Mauritanian Association for Childhood, Nouadhibou branch, honored 20 winners in a Quran memorization competition held this evening, in the presence of the regional director of Islamic Affairs, a representative from the Directorate of Social Affairs, the Assistant Mayor of Nouadhibou Municipality, the Deputy Chairman of the Regional Council, as well as a number of imams and preachers.

Asmaa Bint Amat, the branch president, stated that the competition, which saw participation from 53 contestants since the beginning of the blessed month of Ramadan, aims to nurture the youth and instill a love for the Quran in their hearts.

Bint Amat explained that the competition included four levels: complete Quran memorization, half Quran, quarter Quran, and a tenth of the Quran, with 5 awards granted for each level within the association.

Mohamed Ali Ould Bakari, the regional director of Islamic Affairs, emphasized the importance of instilling a love for the Quran in the hearts of children, given that they are the future of the country, and therefore, they should be given special attention.

At the end of the ceremony, monetary prizes and honorary certificates were distributed to the outstanding participants in the competition, along with certificates of participation for all contestants.
