The Minister of Interior, Decentralization, and Local Development, Mohamed Ahmed Ould Mohamed El Amin, accompanied by security leaders, visited some markets in the three regions of Nouakchott on Thursday evening. The purpose of the visit was to assess the implementation of security measures on the ground just days before the Eid al-Fitr holiday.
In the three regions of Nouakchott, the minister reviewed the details of the security plan, engaging directly with vendors and shoppers. He praised the efforts of the security forces and encouraged the leaders and personnel involved, acknowledging their professionalism and national spirit, as they worked vigilantly to ensure citizens could rest easy.
During the visit, the minister emphasized the importance of everyone cooperating with the security forces, exercising the necessary caution, and working with the utmost dedication to achieve the desired security objectives.
This security plan, which has proven effective and raised the bar for this year’s efforts, is being carried out by the Ministry of Interior, Decentralization, and Local Development. It is part of the comprehensive security strategy adopted by the authorities in recent years, with guidance, oversight, and continuous monitoring from His Excellency President Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani.
