The Ministry of Economy signs agreements with the World Bank worth 26 billion ouguiya

Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Abdel Salam Ould Mohamed Saleh, and World Bank Vice President, Ousmane Diagana, signed three financing agreements worth 26 billion old Ouguiya.

According to the official page of the Ministry of Economy, the financing agreements consist of two grants and a loan, designated to fund the Expanded Care Health System Support Project.

The total amount of the financing includes a grant from the International Development Association worth $6,730,000 and a grant from the International Development Assistance Resources and Facilities totaling $15,000,000.

The Ministry of Economy’s summary stated that this financing will allow access to high-quality reproductive health services, maternal and newborn health, adolescent health, and nutrition. It will also increase service availability in selected areas and ensure swift and efficient response to qualified emergency crises.

The signing took place in the presence of Central Bank Governor, Mohamed Lemine Ould Dhehbi, Mauritania’s Ambassador to Washington, Sisse Bidda, and the Director-General of Financing and Economic Cooperation, Mohamed Salem Ould Nane.
