The Saudi Embassy in Nouakchott hosts an event to implement the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques’ Gift programs for breaking the fast and distributing dates.

The Embassy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in our country hosted an event this Friday evening in Nouakchott to implement the two programs of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques’ Gift for the distribution of dates and breaking the fast for the fasting people during the blessed month of Ramadan for the year 1446 Hijri.
In his speech at the event, the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Islamic Affairs and Original Education, Mr. Bayt Allah Ould Ahmed Lssoud, praised the efforts of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in supporting and serving Islam and Muslims around the world, and extending a helping hand to them, especially during the month of goodness, solidarity, and mercy – the blessed month of Ramadan.
He stated that the Ministry of Islamic Affairs and Original Education and its counterpart in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia have been working in recent years to implement and develop projects that respond to the needs of Muslims in need and honor the memorizers of the Quran and the noble Sunnah. He pointed out that this was recently manifested in Mauritania hosting two consecutive editions of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud Quran and Sunnah memorization competition for West African countries.
For his part, His Excellency the Saudi Ambassador to Mauritania, Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Abdullah Al-Ruqabi, said that the launch of the two programs of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques for the distribution of dates and breaking the fast comes in implementation of the directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, Prime Minister Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, to support Islam and Muslims around the world and address their needs during the blessed month of Ramadan.
He added that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Islamic Republic of Mauritania share distinguished relations in various fields, noting that these relations have witnessed significant development under the wise leadership of King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and their brother, His Excellency the President of the Republic, Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani.
He expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the Mauritanian government for the fruitful cooperation extended to the Saudi Embassy in all matters that enhance the cooperation between the two brotherly countries and reaffirm the depth of the distinguished relations between them.
For his part, Dr. Fahid Al-Ruwisi, the Religious Attaché at the Saudi Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance, explained that the launch of the two programs of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques for breaking the fast and distributing dates, which are carried out by the Saudi Ministry of Islamic Affairs during the blessed month of Ramadan, is a confirmation of the principle of brotherhood in faith: “Indeed, the believers are brothers.”
He pointed out that the quantity of dates allocated to Mauritania in this blessed month is fifteen tons, benefiting 5,000 families, while nearly 6,000 individuals will benefit from the breaking of the fast program in Mauritania.
The ceremony was attended by several dignitaries, including the President of the Nouakchott Regional Authority, Mrs. Fatima Abdel-Malik; the Secretary-General of the Mauritanian Scholars Association, Mr. Sheikh Ould Saleh; the head of the Mauritanian-Saudi Friendship Group; parliamentarians; and prominent national figures.
