Tichit: Distribution of 41 Tons of Food Supplies for 500 Families

The Governor of Tichit District, Mr. Omar Abdallah Mbodj, oversaw today, Saturday, in the city of Tichit, the launch of the distribution of 41 tons of food supplies, provided free of charge by the Food Security Commission, benefiting 500 vulnerable families in the municipalities of Tichit and Lekhcheb.

In a speech on the occasion, the Regional Delegate for Food Security in Tagant, Mr. Issa Zakaria Bouneama, explained that the operation benefits 500 families in the municipalities of Tichit and Lekhcheb. He highlighted that the aid consists of 500 food baskets containing rice, sugar, oil, dates, and pasta.

He added that this distribution is part of programs implemented by the commission in support of the residents of historic cities during the holy month, helping them endure the challenges of these remote areas. He also emphasized that this initiative reflects the commitment of the country’s leadership to its citizens, wherever they may be.

For his part, the Mayor of Tichit, Mr. Hamah Allah Wedu Sidi Amby, expressed his appreciation for the efforts made by the country’s leadership to support the municipality’s residents, affirming that this aid will greatly assist the beneficiaries during this sacred month.

The recipients also welcomed the timely intervention and called for continued support.
