Mauritania Participates in the Spring Meetings of the World Bank and IMF in Washington to Discuss Reforms and Global Economic Challenges

The annual Spring Meetings of the World Bank Group and the International Monetary Fund for 2025 kicked off on Monday in Washington, D.C., continuing from April 21 to 26. A high-level Mauritanian delegation is participating, including the Minister of Economy and Finance, Mr. Sid Ahmed Ould Boubou, the Governor of the Central Bank of Mauritania, Mr. Mohamed Amin Ould El Dahabi, along with senior officials from the Presidency, the Prime Minister’s Office, the Ministry of Economy and Finance, and the Central Bank.
The discussions at this meeting, attended by ministers of economy and finance, central bank governors, and leaders of international financial institutions from around the world, focus on a range of escalating economic and financial challenges. Key issues include trade tensions, tariff problems, the debt crisis, as well as financial system reforms, strengthening global financial stability, and creating job opportunities.
The Mauritanian delegation will also participate in meetings for Arab and African governors with the President of the World Bank and the Managing Director of the IMF. In addition, they will present the ongoing economic reform program being implemented in cooperation with the IMF, and review the portfolio of projects funded by the World Bank in Mauritania, as well as prospects for strengthening the financial and economic partnership with this international institution.
