Apple’s Upcoming M5 iPad Pro and Foldable iPhone Rumors

Reports indicate that Apple’s M5 processors are set to launch next year, signaling an update for the iPad Pro line to align with the new generation of chips. According to Bloomberg, the next iPad Pro will feature two front-facing cameras.
The report suggests that the upcoming iPad Pro will include one front camera in landscape orientation and another on the adjacent edge to facilitate video calls in portrait mode. This design reverses last year’s change, when Apple shifted the front camera to landscape orientation.
This update essentially returns the front camera to its traditional position used in iPad models prior to the M4 generation, allowing better functionality for vertical video calls. The change will not affect the Face ID lens, which remains in its default landscape position, as the additional camera is solely for photography and does not include any sensors, according to the report.
Design and Processor Updates
Bloomberg also noted that the 2026 iPad Pro, powered by the M5 chip, is not expected to feature significant design changes, including thickness or the configuration of the rear camera, which will remain a single lens.
The release of the M5-equipped iPad Pro coincides with the launch of Apple’s foldable iPhone, which is reported to use Samsung-manufactured foldable displays. This suggests that the device may feature a screen comparable to Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 7.
Apple is reportedly integrating foldable screen functionality extensively into iOS 27, addressing challenges observed in early Android foldable devices.
Pricing Expectations
Mark Gurman, Bloomberg’s lead Apple analyst, predicts that the foldable iPhone could be priced at $2,000 or more, reflecting a premium similar to Samsung’s latest foldable devices.
