Educational authorities confirm full readiness for national exams in Adrar

As part of ongoing preparations for national examinations, the Regional Director of Education and Educational System Reform in the Adrar region, Mr. Ali Abdullah Tam, confirmed that the education sector has taken all necessary measures to ensure the smooth organization of national exams under optimal conditions. These include the entrance exam to the first year of middle school, the Middle School Completion Certificate, and the Baccalaureate exam.

In statements to the Mauritanian News Agency on Saturday morning in the city of Atar, the regional director explained that supervising committees for the entrance exam have been deployed across all examination centers in the region. Transport has also been provided in coordination with administrative authorities to ensure efficient movement and smooth execution of exam procedures.

He noted that this year several exam centers have been consolidated within selected institutions to enhance security, improve organizational conditions, and ensure a more suitable environment for candidates.

He added that the supervision system is based on strict principles of transparency and integrity, stressing that no director or teacher has been assigned to supervise examinations within the same institution where they work, in order to guarantee neutrality and equal opportunity for all candidates.

The official also confirmed that secretariat committees are fully prepared to carry out their tasks efficiently, praising the decision to centralize both the entrance exam to the first year of middle school and the middle school completion certificate at the regional level, as it improves efficiency and speeds up all stages of the process.

Exam statistics in Adrar

Regarding statistics, he stated that 2,277 candidates are registered for the entrance exam to the first year of middle school in the Adrar region, including 1,108 girls, distributed across 44 exam centers.

Atar department leads with 1,489 candidates, including 725 girls, across 23 centers, followed by Aoujeft with 436 candidates (192 girls) in 14 centers. Chinguetti has 192 candidates (121 girls) across four centers, while Ouadane has 160 candidates (70 girls) across three centers.

He also confirmed that the number of candidates for the Middle School Completion Certificate reached 1,761 students, including 1,024 girls, distributed across 21 centers: 13 in Atar, four in Aoujeft, and two centers each in Chinguetti and Ouadane.
