Ghazouani: I count on Sanchez’s commitment to facilitate the migration of Mauritanians to Europe
President Mohamed Ould Ghazouani stated that he relies on the “commitment” of Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez to “facilitate legal migration for Mauritanian citizens to Spain and Europe.”
This was mentioned during a joint press conference with the Spanish Prime Minister at the presidential palace in Nouakchott.
Ould Ghazouani also pointed out his expectations for “the personal commitment of the Spanish Prime Minister to promote circular migration for Mauritanian youth and to exempt official national passports (diplomatic and service passports) from Schengen visas.”
He explained that Sánchez’s visit allowed them to “engage in a fruitful exchange, assess all matters of mutual interest, and discuss the best ways and means to enhance the excellent cooperation between the two countries.”
He added: “We discussed the current shared challenges and explored the necessary ways and means to address them, with a spirit of solidarity and shared responsibility, through balanced and mutually beneficial strategic partnerships. We agreed to continue strengthening and diversifying our cooperation to serve the mutual interests of our friendly countries and to contribute to development and stability in the region as a whole.”
