According to the statement, the two countries emphasized “the need to define common objectives in combating terrorism, extremism, and organized crime, including smuggling and human trafficking.”
The countries also confirmed their intention to “strengthen mutual consultations and cooperation in all relevant areas.”
They welcomed the “approval – within the framework of NATO – of the Alliance’s action plan for the south, which continues from the Madrid Summit.”
The statement noted that “this action plan will enhance the excellent relations between the Ministries of Defense.”
The countries announced their “commitment to continuing regular joint bilateral committees and deepening cooperation, particularly in capacity building, training, and collaboration on multilateral initiatives, including participation in joint exercises.”
