At the invitation of his Brazilian counterpart, His Excellency the Minister of Defense, Veterans, and Martyrs’ Children, Mr. Hannan Ould Sidi, participated in the 15th edition of the Defense and Security Exhibition (LAAD), which took place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from April 1 to 4, 2025.
On the sidelines of the exhibition, the Minister held bilateral meetings with the Brazilian Minister of Defense, Mr. José Mousio Monteiro, and the Minister and Head of the Institutional Security Office of the Presidency of the Federative Republic of Brazil, General Marcos Amaro Jo.
The discussions focused on ways to enhance bilateral military cooperation, security coordination, and the protection of classified information. As a result, two memoranda of understanding were signed between the two countries to formalize this cooperation.
The meetings were attended by the following members of the Mauritanian delegation: Mr. Ahmed Ould Al-Hamed, the First Counselor at the Mauritanian Embassy in Brazil, General Mohamed Ould Sheikh Ould Beida, Chief of Staff of the Air Force, and Colonel Ahmed Salem Hamza, Head of the Military Cooperation Division at the General Staff of the Armed Forces.
